Position Description: The Prince George’s County Planning Department of the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission is seeking an experienced Master Planner to manage a comprehensive revision of the county’s Zoning Ordinance.

As Master Planner you will manage a multi-year effort to modernize the county’s Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances.  You will be working with a team of planners, technicians, and consultants to create an ordinance that is:  effective at regulating a broad range of development types (including urban and transit-oriented mixed-use, traditional residential and commercial, and rural development types); logically organized, clearly written, and transparent to the public; able to advance the public’s interest in development standards without unduly extending the time, complexity, or cost of the approval process for the private sector; and generally demonstrates best national practices in zoning and subdivision legislation.
